3 Hours Before Flight Time
Fly into Beijing with the peace of mind knowing our team is waiting for you. Look out for our friendly wave as we whisk you onto comfortable private coaches straight to your first-class hotel suite to relax.
The most iconic landmark of China is The Great Wall and one of the most famous sections of the wall is on your doorstep in Beijing. Our experienced guides take you to the beautiful Mutianyu section and provide you with their expert knowledge and stories.
Your third day in Beijing will revolve around an exciting trip to the Forbidden City, also known as the city within the city comprising of magnificent palaces and gardens. For lunch we will chat about our experience over one of the local delicacies, roasted duck. And then head to the characterful Temple of Heaven.
Your final day in Beijing will be a memorable one as we explore the Summer Palace and the Bell and Drum Tower. The afternoon will consist of meandering through the charming Hutong Old District and visiting the older regal houses.
On the evening we depart for Xian, which takes approximately 2.5 hours by plane.
When in Xian, there is no better destination to visit than the Terracotta Army. These soldiers were created as a type of burial art and placed within a famous Chinese Emperor’s tomb. Only discovered by farmers recently, it is one of the biggest discoveries of our lifetime. Witness 100s of these life-sized artistic sculptures with our expert guides!
We then end the day with an enjoyable bike ride to explore the Ming Dynasty Xian City Walls.
Our second day experiencing the wonders of Xian will take us to visit the Muslim Quarter and the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda. Both tours will be full of interesting facts and stories from our knowledgeable and friendly private guides.
In the afternoon, we will catch the train to Chengdu to continue our once-in-a-lifetime China trip. The ride takes around 2.5 hours, plenty of time to relax, unwind and take in some views of China!
After a soothing night in our luxury Chengdu hotel we dive straight into this vibrant city with a trip to the Panda Research Centre. Renowned and interesting, you can witness some of the most rare species on the plane right here.
Nobody should visit Chengdu without dining on the famous Chengdu Hot Pot. We take you to the best place where the locals go and then take the famous high-speed train to Chongqing (approx. journey time is 2.5 hours).
Upon arrival, our guide will help you check-in for your unique river cruise departing at 9pm.
Your cruise will dreamily float down the Yangtze River, the longest river in Asia! You’ll experience breathtaking views across the land and enjoy a short stop at a must-see temple, the Shibaozhai Pagoda.
Your cruise continues down the third-longest river in the world, passing by the picturesque Qutang and Wu Gorge before stopping at the emerald green Shennong Stream.
Before the cruise ends you will enjoy further views across this charming river and a stop at the Three Gorges Dam, a piece of Chinese engineering brilliance. Once in Yichang, our guides will be waiting once again to chauffeur you to the airport where we will fly to Shanghai. The journey to Shanghai is around two hours.
Your penultimate day on this unique Chinese adventure with Sandhills Travel is in Shanghai. We have an action-packed day full of the best destinations and tourist spots this city can offer. We begin with a trip to the Yu Garden and Temple, an intricate assembly of gardens and teahouses arranged around a famous jade rock.
On the afternoon, we head to Bund Street to sample a flavour for the local community in full flow as they weave in and out of the street’s famous stores and huts on the waterfront. It’s also a great place to snap the perfect Shanghai picture!
